Installing Minecraft plugins

Plugins run on server software like Paper or Spigot and do not require players to install anything.

1. In your panel, set the server type to Paper (recommended) and start once.
2. Download plugin JAR files from a trusted source such as SpigotMC or Modrinth.
3. Upload them to the plugins folder.
4. Restart the server so the plugins load.
5. Edit each plugin config file, then restart again to apply.

Plugins vs mods

Plugins are server-side only (great for survival, minigames, economy). Mods (Forge/Fabric) change the game itself and require a matching client — use a modpack for those.
